Driving licenses.

Post by Kevin Alymer on Tue Nov 15, 2011 6:12 am

As you've seen there's now a government board in the faction section. We're trying to make the RP in the server more realistic. What would you think of adding driving licenses, and making people apply for them, and receive a driving test from a specific faction dealing with this? I know we'd all start without vehicle licenses and so on, but adding driving licenses can increase the RP level and let SD be able to suspend them at times and perform more checks on whether a person has one. SD would be able to see the driving licenses by looking at the forum board on the ones that are accepted.

Feel free to also give an idea on what more can we do with the government board.

We did this on another server that shall be unnamed, but the Drivers knew we had to check forums to check for a license's Status and they'd speed off during the process.

May I suggest a simple MDC system to go along with this.

Guess it'll make more sense in the server to have 'em driver licenses. I like the idea, specially since it'll make SD have more duties and such. Maybe even having those high school driver permits could be great, since I seen schools are being made/mapped.

@Sierra 7

Then maybe, having to Roleplay renewing your driver licenses or something could be done. Only if the idea is decided to be made into the server. Just an idea, I'm not totally sure what the case may be for everyone which already own/owned a vehicle..

We can add this as a RCS Division, Red County DMV, simple and easy to use/remember, but first we need scripters on the job, or else we're going nowhere.

Good.Ideea. Red County will have more criminals since some won´t even bother, altough this will increase RP,therefore go on.

Make a simple MDC system, or make the drivers license in-game, like the weapon licenses. Not everyone can check the forums and be in-game at the same time.

Well, it might not really be a problem as much since this been kinda going on as the Wep Licenses. I mean, maybe making a check list of those who have gotten an "Acceptance Test opportunity", "Denied Test Opportunity", "Passed Exam", and "Failed Exam" in the forums IC section would be good. That way it ain't that hard instead of searching through topics for names. Just a thought I had.

I am! It's pretty self explanatory, unless of course you want the written exam along with it, but I'm guessing you only want the driving portion. What we could do is have the person walk into the city hall and they'll pay $500 to take the test which will teleport them to the driving school in SF where they'll park in numerous ways and avoid hitting cones. Yep. There are other ways as well..

I'd rather have people RP it. We need an IC reason to start having these licenses. Any ideas?

So.. they can drive cars..? Also to avoid being arrested..?
Also in order for people to BUY cars from the car dealership they must have a valid license.

No, there'd be a group who would be able to give them a driving license after testing, and they can buy cars without a license, they just can't drive legally.

I like this, but 500 may be a bit to much. I think we should do this:

$100 for bikes, and scooters.

$250 for normal sized cars

$500 for big rig trucks.

$1,000 for a helicopter

$1,500 for a plane

Yes I know that not everyone will get a plane or helicopter but its still good to have the option.

But even if we just had one type of license it would still be cool.

Chris, ain't that kinda similar to having the License class, such as Class A, B, C, and D? Though adding prices to which particular driver license you desire is a good idea. And it'll require having a driver's test with different vehicles, other than the same old thing for each License class.

I agree with this

This should be done and licenses should be revoked when harsh driving is done.

Add RCS division, pl0x :>
The prices should go like:
Type-age-price
scooters-16 when recieving license-28$
motorbikes(Class M1/M2)-16 when recieving license-28$
cars(Class A/B/C)-16 when recieving license-31$

This is all i had energy to dig up

Switch them around, IRL a Motorbike license cost a fuckload more than a car license.

Chris_Bell wrote:But even if we just had one type of license it would still be cool.

$300-$600 should be enough for a single vehicle license, can show up when the player does the /licenses command, just like the firearms license. (Also, that amount of cash is easy to get IG...)

I suggested this once long ago

I still fullsupport it

The DLC(Faction) can take tests and hand out driving licenses.
and the cops can take them in.. (If they screw it)
